Shanti Shea An (b. 1993) is a visual artist based in Sydney, Australia. Her practice is centred on the practice of painting and its relationship to reading, textuality, and translation.
Born in Adelaide and raised in Canberra, she completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) in 2016 at the ANU School of Art. She then completed a Master of Art History & Curatorial Studies at the ANU Centre for Art History and Art Theory in 2019. Her MA thesis examined pictorial and architectural thresholds in seventeenth-century Dutch painting.
Since 2018, she has been a sessional lecturer and tutor in visual arts, art history and art theory courses at the ANU School of Art & Design. She is a current PhD candidate at the ANU (commenced 2020).
